Hi Nadia! I loved Digital Gold — the basic understanding of e-currency I have is all thanks to that book. And excellent call on skipping Infinite Jest for Emma.
I know right :) A friend actually recommended "Infinite Jest" when I mentioned that I was looking for a modern novel that I would love as much as "The Goldfinch." Yet, "Goldfinch" is such a classical, purely Dickensian novel, that it bears little resemblance from a literary perspective (though the language is beautiful in both books). I'm still on the lookout though, I really want to get lost in a long, gripping novel, preferably something modern.

I'm guessing you've tried Pachinko?
I haven't, but thanks for the tip!
